ICBC has announced that, as of May 2022, customers will be able to renew their Autoplan insurance online. They will also be able to purchase Temporary Operation Permits (1-15 day policies). Policy changes, transfers of ownership, and other transactions will not yet be supported in the coming online environment.

You will be able to access online Autoplan transactions through your agency's website or through ICBC.com. You will also be able to continue supporting your preferred agency in the online sales process by selecting that brokerage or by using your agency's website to access online ICBC sales.

Although ICBC wants to move sales online for your convenience, you may choose to seek advice from independent brokers and complete the transaction in person at your local agency. Sometimes making things digital can make it all the more difficult. While we hope this is not the case in 2022, we will certainly be keeping our doors open and welcome customers to visit us in-office.

We are still a ways off before these changes come into effect. We will keep you updated on important changes as they occur. For now, ICBC is maintaining another online resource which launched last year - an Insurance Estimator that allows customers to get estimates on their Autoplan policies when adding or removing drivers. The processing of changes will still require broker approval.

Best Wishes for the New Year & Enjoy the Holiday Season!
